About maria

Hi y’all! I’m Maria and I’m so stinkin happy you’re here!! I am someone who likes to be witty, light hearted, optimistic, and most importantly laugh at my awkward and clumsy self. I have a serious love for peanut butter and all things Kentucky. I had a blog years ago where I loved to share my travels and behind the scenes of modeling jobs… but I got tired of talking about myself real fast. Therefore, I changed it into a site where I shared tips of how to change typically unhealthy food into healthy goodness with my recipe tricks. I’m going to share a little bit of everything here from recipes, to stories, to tricks to getting into the modeling industry, to beauty tips, and more! So let’s get to know each other! Here is my story…

I started modeling back in high school, and knew pageants could propel my end goal - a modeling career. After being first runner up over, and over, and over for years in local pageants, interview and on-stage technique finally clicked in, which brought me to winning 3 KY state titles in one year! One was Miss Kentucky USA, which lead me to placing as a runner up to Miss USA (owned by NBC and Donald Trump at the time). After that, God further opened more doors, like only He can, and guided me to getting signed by FORD models - my dream since I was a little girl! Once that contract was signed, modeling become a full time job as I signed with numerous agencies across the country. This brought me to live in Chicago and Miami off and on, and travel weekly through the country. My resume was built as I shot for companies like Jockey, Nike, JCP, Kohls, Martini ads, Marchesa, skincare companies, Remington curling iron boxes, and more. After several years of bouncing around living places for months at a time, I decided to get married and of course then I just wanted to stay home in the Bluegrass and travel to wherever as needed during the week. And I LOVE this lifestyle!

As years went on, my agents started to send me to model in Music Videos such as Tim McGraw, be a trophy Model on stage of the CMAs and to host video shoots and how-to videos for companies like Garnier Fructis, Pantene, Olay, Black and Decker, and more. In these videos I talked about various home products, hair tools, and beauty items. These jobs allowed me to fall in love with Live and Pre-recorded TV shoots and to improve my on-camera skills. Now half of my work is modeling, half is hosting commercials, videos, interviews, etc. ... including one of my favorite live jobs, the on-court host for University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball games.... Go cats!

I am so excited to teach you the beauty, hair, and fitness tricks I’ve learned in the industry over the years so you don’t have to learn the hard way like I did! I also am so stoked to share all my favorite Kentucky items and local places with you here. Additionally, I now can bring you wedding gowns from the Build-A-Bride™ Collection By Heidi Elnora (as seen on TLC, Today Show, and Project Runway) that you’ve seen me modeling for years! We literally build a top-of-the-line, custom gown on your body as you chose the silhouette, lace, neckline, sparkle, train, veil and more from my kit of pieces!

If you’re interested in hanging out to learn interview/runway techniques for modeling or pageants (in person or over FaceTime), having a host for your event or commercial, model for your brand, or building your dream wedding gown... email me! I can’t wait to meet you and hug your pretty face!

Biggest Blessings,

Maria Montgomery
